Woke up early at 4:30. I checked my e-mail and went for a walk around the loop.
I made it back and started breakfast prep early so I could take my time. I had talked to Clarissa the night before and had asked to do breakfast prep and breakfast clean up every day for my chores since mornings I didn’t seem to be getting headaches. She thought that would be a great idea and the other interns likes it as well.
BREAKFAST: watermelon and papaya
We discussed the laws of nature at breakfast.
I went to do breakfast clean up but we had no water. We were all going to take the dishes down to the river and wash them. We can’t leave them sitting and wait otherwise the fruit flies will have a hay day. Just as we had them all packed up and were getting ready to make the trek down the hill. I checked the water one more time and we had a little tiny trickle. It wasn’t much but it was enough to do the dishes. So I washed them up quickly.
After clean up I practiced speaking Spanish with one of the ladies that works here cleaning the rooms. Her name is Jackie and she is so adorable.
I felt great and didn’t have any headaches so far. I went and monitored my faster then got on the computer to work on my homework. I instantly got a headache…ahhhh! That damn computer!!!!!
I went down to the pool and lied in the sun for a while hoping my headache would go away if I just relaxed. One of the interns talked to me and suggested I put my eyes in the cold river to see if that helped. I thought I could give it a try. I went down to the water and put my head under. It did feel fantastic on my eyes. My headache didn’t go away but at least it eased up. Doug, Grant and Jerome were lifting rocks. I decided to give it a try. I bench pressed a 44 lb. rock, which was about all my shoulder could take. It felt really good to work that shoulder though. I can feel it getting stronger and stronger.
I went to the hot tub and soaked for a while. Doug came up and got in the hot tub with me. I was talking to him about water and what he thought of my water purifying system I’ve been doing at home. Which is putting the tap water in jars and sitting them in the sun with the lid off for 24 hours to let the chlorine and chemicals evaporate out. He said that it was a good system for getting the chemicals out but that water still had THM’s. THM’s are disinfectant byproducts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trihalomethane
So I asked him about reverse osmosis. Doug seemed to think that was a really good system and very comparable to distilled water. I guess I will looking into reverse osmosis when I get home J
LUNCH: blended bananas, bananas and celery
The lunch discussion was about the cranial system.
After lunch Grant told his life story and sang a song. I really enjoyed hearing how Grant got into running and got to where he is now. When Grant was finished Doug started the lecture. I was lying down on the couch and Daniele came over and got under the blanket with me and we had some snuggle time. That was really nice, Daniele is a very snuggly person.
Before dinner I walked up the very steep driveway 3 times to get in a little bit of an extra workout.
DINNER: I ate too many foods combined together and had a little bit of a stomach ache. I asked Clarissa if from now on she could make me just oj, mango’s and tomatoes for dinner that would be great. My system just wants simple foods right now.
The dinner discussion was about AIDS. How is started and what causes it. It was a very good discussion and I learned so much. The meeting ran late though and I was getting very tired. As soon as it was over I went straight to bed.
