10 ripe spotty bananas
Peel the bananas and put them in a vita mix or blender. Pulse until creamy. Do not blend or the mixture will turn brown.

Interesting on the pulsing v. blending; I’ll have to try that. Are you saying that your smoothie doesn’t turn brown even after several hours in your mason jar? What about if you open and drink half and save the rest for later?
Love the photos! 🙂

exactly Michele. I usually have my banana smoothie at lunch at it is still yellow 🙂

Wow. That’s great. One more question: When you say, “pulse,” do you mean that you turn the Vitamix on and off repeatedly? Or, do you mean you keep it on the low variable speed? Perhaps we have different versions of the Vitamix, because mine does not have a “pulse” option. I have the 5200 standard, which I bought about a year-and-a-half ago. It has a BPA free container, and I see yours is some kind of metal. Just looking for a way to keep away the brown with my Vitamix! 🙂

My vita mix has a switch you can flip on and off to pulse. If you blend it on low it will still turn brown. It has to be pulsed. If you do it on high then it only takes about 6 pulses.

Is it the same with Banana milkshakes? Just add milk to this pulp?
