I woke up in the middle of the night at 2 a.m. with a dog barking and barking. It took me about an hour to go back to sleep. The sleep I did get was amazing. My dreams were very happy and vivid. So vivid it took me a while after waking up at 6 a.m. to distinguish dream from reality.
Each day I am here I feel more and more joyful. My mind keeps getting sharper and my mood today was incredibly stable. Just peacefully coasted through the day.
I keep forgetting to write down my weight in my blog. This morning is was 148 and when I arrived here I was at 152. Pretty good for 6 days.
It was a little chilly today, cloudy with no sunshine and a little bit of rain off and on.
First thing I did this morning was write my blog. After finishing, I went into the great room and grabbed the jump rope. I jumped 57 times in a row on my first attempt. My second attempt I made it to 75…breaking my record! Woo hoo! Now that I was warmed up I did some stretching.
BREAKFAST: watermelon and papaya
Breakfast conversation was a presentation on sodium and potassium given by Rob. Rob seemed really down and I made a mental note to make sure to talk to him later on and see what was going on with him. The presentation was good and of course we get plenty of sodium and potassium from fruits and vegetables.
After breakfast I monitored my faster. He was a lot different today from yesterday. Not very talkative at all and tired. Otherwise his vital signs were good and he was acting pretty much as expected this far into the fast.
Right as I was finishing up with monitoring the food truck arrived. All the interns came running. We unloaded everything, put it away and I counted it all within 20 minutes. It was very exciting to get food, since we were almost out of everything except banana’s.
Walking back after bringing fresh water to my faster I ran into Rob and I asked if he had time to walk and talk. He did and we spent about a half hour together. He was very open and shared a lot of things. I was glad he was able to open up to me and I think he will start feeling happier soon. The talk made me think it would be a good idea to check in with all the interns and make sure they were all doing ok. Which I did through out the day. I am glad I did because some of them shared with me some things they were struggling with that I had no idea about.
LUNCH: blended banana’s, banana’s, cucumbers and romaine lettuce.
We were all happy to have lettuce again. We had been out for a couple of days. I couldn’t believe how good the lettuce tasted to me. It was so good dipped in my banana smoothie. I ate a bunch of it and it made me very happy.
Lunch discussion was a review of how each of the fasters were doing. Many of us saw changes in our fasters today. Most of them have been fasting a week and their energy is getting low.
After lunch was the slide show and a video. I didn’t fall asleep today…yay! Danielle sang and was amazing as always 🙂 We shared good news and Doug gave a lecture. He shared a couple of stories about people that have been healed from fasting. He then talked to the fasters and addressed any concerns they might have.
When the lecture was over. I had an hour of free time before dinner. I have warmed up the hot tub earlier and I thought this would be a great time to soak in the hot water. Another intern named Drew came along as well. He is 17 and I really enjoy his company. He is really smart and I enjoy his insights into things. We had fun jumping from the hot tub into the pool and then back into the hot tub. Nothing like being a kid again 🙂
DINNER: fresh squeezed oj blended with mango, tomato mango soup, cucumber noodles and romaine/cabbage salad. With cut up pineapple on the side.
I ate really light. I wasn’t very hungry.
Dinner was a lot of fun. Doug would throw questions out and chose someone to answer as quickly as they could. It was a great way to learn a lot and have a good time doing it.
When dinner was over I headed back to my room to write my blog and get to bed early.
